  • Notes
    • He served in Captain Marqquis Calmes's Company, the 2nd Virginia Regiment commanded by Colonel Alexander Spotswood and later by Colonel Christian Febiger. Samuel died in a Revolutionary War battle.
Note by James Trivett: Has anyone checked out the Samuel Trivett that was with the 2nd Virginia Regiment? I have documents from the DAR on 2 Samuel Trivetts that lived after the Revolutionary War, but the one with the 2nd Virg. Reg. spent the winter at Valley Forge w George Washington Dec. 1777 - June 1778. I have pay receipts for him in July 1779, Sept. 1779 and Oct 1779. It looks to me like he did not collect his pay for Sept, Oct. I wonder if he was killed in Aug. when the 2nd Virg. fought at Paulas Hook, (Jersey City, NJ now) where 2 men were killed and 3 wounded? Has anyone verified his death date? Also if he was with the 2nd Virg. Reg. does that mean he was born in Virginia?James Trivett
