Generation No. 1

        1. William1 Farrer1

Notes for William Farrer:

Sandi, Ask all the questions you want. I have been to Jonathan's house, and it is amazing. It is the oldest inhabited house in America (really) and it is in Dedham, Massachussets at 511 East Street. My 10th great grampa Jonathan Fairbanks built it in 1635 and founded the largest town in America at the time, for it spread down to Rhode Island from Boston. His Mom was Mary Farrer. http://www. fairbankshouse. org/ Salt Lake City would amaze you, as one can find records back very quickly, if they exist. I know you are far more experienced at this than me, I have only been at this for half a year. Back in the 1500's, there were Lacys and Farrers that inter married in Yorkshire (Halifax, Heptonstall, Erringden, and Sowerby). I am on a mission, this is incredible, for both Margaret Lacy's descend from the Kings of Saxony, first 8 Kings of England, and married William and Brian Farrer, cousins. Two Margaret Lacy cousins marrying two Farrer Men, what a tangled web! I would be honored to learn from you and share our info. Douglas Mann Sent: Wed 11/24/2004 7:57 PM To: Johnson, Doug M. Hi Doug: What I would do to spend a week at Salt Lake City, but I am sure I have to wait until I retire. This line is my ex-husband's line, so I don't have many stories that I can follow up on. Now that we have a grandson I am more interested in following it up. I most I have gone back is to George Farrer born 1819 in Annan, Dumfriesshire, Scotland source is 1881 England, UK Census, taken April 3rd, 1881. He moved to Whitehaven, Cumberland, England and it looks like the family stayed there until 1965 when his great grandson, Leonard moved to Canada. I can see that there are many Farrer's in Cumberland still, but I have not contact with them, either did Len when he moved here. Have you been to the house? When did they emigrate to the USA? I have many questions :} Regards,Sandi Sullivan From: Johnson, Doug M. [mailto:djohnson(at)frontieroil-den. com] Sent: Wednesday, November 24, 2004 5:01 PM To: Sandi Sullivan Subject: Requesting information or Reporting a problem on the Sullivan Burgess Family Tree Hi Sandi, I have traced a few of my lines quite a ways back, and am related to the Founder of Dedham, Massachusetts Jonathan Fairbanks, whose house is the oldest house still in use in America (really!). His mother was Mary Farrer d. ~1624, whose father was Richard Farrer d. 1610, whose Father was Brian Farrer d. 1575, whose Father was Henry Farrer d. 1542. I noticed you have Farrer in your more recent ancestry, and was wondering if information sharing would bear fruit for both of us. I just returned from Salt Lake City, FHL to authenticate this line and was doing searches when I ran across your site. Douglas Mann Johnson Denver, Colorado djohnson(at)frontieroil-den. co
